About Us
River Valley Insurance is a family owned and operated insurance brokerage in the town of Athabasca. The family's exposure to selling insurance in Athabasca started in the 1970s when Fred Martin started River Bend Insurance. His son, Trevor Martin, followed in the insurance industry. Trevor left Athabasca to start his career, and eventually returned in 2001. In 2008 he founded River Valley Insurance. Trevor operated the business for 15 years before retiring. His son, Brett Martin, took over the business, marking the 3rd generation of insurance brokers in the Town of Athabasca.
River Valley Insurance mostly sells personal lines home and auto insurance, but also sells farm and commercial insurance. Most clients are in the Athabasca area, but River Valley Insurance has clients from across Alberta.
